	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Detach ground line(s) from battery/batteries	Engine 272 Insulate clamping device of the ground line in order to prevent inadvertent contact with the ground point of the battery.	AR54.10-P-0003SX
2	Remove poly-V belt	Engine 272
		Engine 272 with single-belt pulley	AR13.20-P-0001SX
		Engine 272 with twin belt drive	AR13.22-P-1202SXH
	Version of the poly-V belt altered	Model 221.095/195	BT13.20-P-1000-01SXH
3	Remove alternator from crankcase and lay to one side with attached lines	Engine 272
		Engine 272 except engine 272.974	AR15.40-P-5032SX
		Engine 272.974 Ensure that no cables or lines, brackets are damaged	AR15.40-P-5032SXH
4	Remove right engine intake air duct and front engine cover	See Remove air filter housing.	AR09.10-P-1150SX
5	Remove oil dipstick (1).
6	Remove bolt (2) on front cover		*BA01.30-P-1006-01O
7	Remove bottom engine compartment paneling	Install engine compartment paneling only after engine test run.	AR61.20-P-1105SX
8	Drain engine oil
	Engine oil and filter change		AP18.00-P-0101SX
9	Remove bolt (3) from oil pan (4)		*BA01.45-P-1006-01M
10	Remove oil dipstick guide tube (5) to the top	Replace sealing ring in oil pan (4). Do not tilt oil dipstick guide tube (5) when inserting so that the sealing ring is not damaged.
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Wait about 5 minutes after switching off the warm engine before inspecting engine oil level, adjust to correct level if necessary

	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. 13	Carry out engine test run, checking the engine for proper operation and leaks
