- Front fog light actuation, function
- Turn signal indicator actuation, function
- Brake light actuation, function
- Backup lamp actuation, function
- Headlight switch off delay function
- Substitute lights and emergency lights actuation, function
Function sequence, switching off the exterior lights
Switching off the exterior lights prevents the battery (G1) from being discharged by the active low beam and standing light actuation.
The low beams may be switched on because of the auto on/off headlamps, the daytime running lights or manually via the rotary light switch (S1). A prerequisite for this is the status of circuit 15 On. If circuit 15 is Off, the low beams are switched off.
The standing lights may be switched on because the low beams have been manually switched on, because of the auto on/off headlamps, the daytime running lights or manually via the rotary light switch.
If the standing lights have been switched on manually by moving the rotary light switch to the "Standing lights" position, the standing lights will not be switched off. If the standing lights have been activated by manually switching on the low beams, the auto on/off headlamps or the daytime running lights and the driver door is then opened with a transmitter key in the EZS control unit (N73) A8/1 the standing lights are switched off.
If the ambient illumination function has been activated via the instrument cluster (A1), it automatically switches itself on when the engine is turned off. The standing lights remain switched on for an adjustable time interval of no more than t = 60 s.
The ambient illumination function is described in a separate Service Information.
