DANGER Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism. AS82.30-Z-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A 
1 Prepare 1-component adhesive cartridge With 1-component adhesive set.  
  AR67.10-D-1000-12H 
IMPORTANT Heating time is approx. 60 minutes.

3 Remove inside rearview mirror (3)    
4.1 Remove cap (5) from rain and light sensor (B38/2) Model 906

5 Disconnect electrical connection (6) Model 906

8 Remove multifunction camera (B84/8) in direction of arrow Model 906

9 Remove paneling from A-pillar Model 906

10 Remove overhead control panel control unit Model 906

11 Lift front edge of headliner and pull wiring harness down with electrical connectors on heated windshield (1) Model 906

12 Remove rubber element between instrument panel and windshield (1) Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
13 Pull electrical connectors on heated windshield (1) out between windshield (1) and instrument panel Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
14 Disconnect electrical connectors on heated windshield (1) Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
15 Open engine hood    
16 Remove wiper arm   AR82.30-D-6951A
17 Detach sealing frame (2) on windshield (1) and remove SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
18 Cut out windshield (1) with Roll out and remove   AR67.10-P-1000-11SX 
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
19 Remove adhesive residues from vehicle interior    
INSTALLING Install     
20 Prepare windshield (1) for installation   AR67.10-D-1501-02A 
IMPORTANT Allow primer to air-dry for min. 10 minutes. Always replace frame seal (2).

21 Prepare windshield cutout (1) for installation   AR67.10-D-1502-01A

22 2KPrepare-component adhesive cartridge With 2-component adhesive set.  
  AR67.10-D-1000-07A 
IMPORTANT Before inserting cartridge remove red safety ring on cartridges and completely retract pressure piston slide of cartridge gun.

23 Lower window in driver door NOTES
The window in the driver door must be lowered.
Otherwise the windshield (1) can be pressed toward outside by the air pressure during the curing time when closing the driver door.
 
24 Install windshield (1)   AR67.10-D-1503-01A 
NOTES
Install windshield (1) within 5 minutes when using 2-component adhesive or 10 minutes with 1-component adhesive.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Apply adhesive bead uniformly approx. 13 mm high.
IMPORTANT Curing time:
1-component adhesive min. 2 h
2-component adhesive min. 1 h

25 Connect electrical connectors on heated windshield (1) Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
26 Install overhead control panel control unit Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
27 Install linings on A-pillar Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
28 Remove rubber element between instrument panel and windshield (1) Model 906
with code F49 (Heated windscreen)
 
29 Install new rain/light sensor (B38/2) Model 906
with code JA5 (Light and rain sensor)
If the windshield (1) is replaced.

31 Install multifunction camera (B84/8) Model 906

If multifunction camera (B84/8) has been removed or windshield (1) replaced.
IMPORTANT Ensure that multifunction camera (B84/8) is seated correctly.

    IMPORTANT Calibration of the multifunction camera (B84/8) requires use of the calibration target for the Night View Assist.
