	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
		While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surfaces of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
		Installation:  Only tighten bolts and nuts of the chassis components in the curb condition.
1	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100CW
2	Remove rear wheel Remove/install wheels		AP40.10-P-4050CW
3	Remove twelve-point collar nut (12) from rear axle shaft (37)	Installation:  Replace twelve-point collar nut (12).	AR35.30-P-0115-01TX

4	Remove brake disc	204 (except 204.077/277, 377)	AR42.10-P-0250CW
5	Remove parking-brake brake shoes (103)	Model 204	AR42.20-P-0530CW
6	Remove rear brake cable (103a) from wheel carrier (7)	Model 204	AR42.20-P-0525CW
7	Detach rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3 or L6/4) from wheel carrier (7)
8	Unclip electrical lines on wheel carrier (7)
9	Raise wheel carrier (7) using transmission jack and transmission platform until rear axle shaft (37) is roughly horizontal	Installation:  Tighten bolted connections of strut rod, camber strut and thrust arm (3, 2, 5) as well as the tie rod (4) and the spring control arm (6).
		Installation:  The bolt and nut securing the spring control arm to the wheel carrier must be replaced each time they are loosened.

10	Remove tie rod (4), camber strut (2), torque strut (3) and thrust arm (5) from wheel carrier (7)	Installation:  Screw on bolted connections loosely.
11	Check whether the rear axle shaft (37) is firmly seated in the rear axle shaft flange	If the rear axle shaft (37) is difficult to remove: ↓ Press rear axle shaft (37) out of rear axle shaft flange.	AR35.30-P-0115-03SX

12	Detach spring control arm (6) from wheel carrier (7)	Installation:  Screw on bolted connection loosely.
13	Remove wheel carrier (7) with brake cover plate (112) and wheel bearing (10) from rear axle shaft (37)	Do not damage the rubber boot and rotor for the rpm sensor on the rear axle shaft (37).
14	Detach wheel bearing (10) from wheel carrier (7); to do this, remove bolts (11)	When replacing the wheel bearing (10)
		The wheel carrier (7) spare part is delivered with mounted wheel bearing (10).	*BA35.20-P-1001-06D
15	Remove brake cover plate (112) from wheel carrier (7)	When replacing the wheel carrier (7)
16	Install in the reverse order
17	Adjust parking brake	Model 204	AR42.20-P-0540CW
