Detach
- Model 204 Apply parking brake.
- Unscrew twelve-point collar nut (12).NOTE: The twelve point collar nut (12) should be replaced each time it is unscrewed. If a self-locking twelve-point collar nut (12) was installed, the thread of the rear axle shaft must be cleaned. Use a suitable brush to remove residues of the thread locking compound (arrow, right picture).
- Tighten twelve-point collar nut (12).NOTE: Observe specified tightening torque.
- Secure twelve-point collar nut (12) with caulker to ensure that there is no gap between the groove and locking collar of the twelve-point collar nut (12).NOTE: Double lock twelve-point collar nut (12) (arrows, left picture), for not self-locking variant. Lock twelve-point collar nut (12) one time only, with self-locking variant .
- Release parking brake or electronic parking brake.
Mount and Secure
Note twelve-point collar nut (12) variant. The non self-locking variant is replaced by the Self-locking variant .
