Remove/install headliner - AR68.30-P-4300SXS

MODEL 221.1 with CODE (Z07) Top protection

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage to windows installed in special protection vehicles   AH67.00-P-0003-01FB
1.1 Remove Night View Assist camera. On vehicles with code (610) Night View Assist AR54.30-P-3000SX
2 Remove rain/light sensor cover (2)    
3 Remove both sun visors with counterbearings    
4 Remove overhead control panel control unit (N70)   AR82.20-P-1000SXS
5 Detach check strap (7) of inside rearview mirror unit (A67)    
6 Remove inside rearview mirror unit (A67)    
7 Remove bracket (10) of inside rearview mirror unit (A67)    
8 Remove spacer (6) IMPORTANT On vehicles without code (610) Night View Assist, a spacer (6) is installed on the left and right.  
9 Remove plastic washer of bracket (8) On vehicles with code (610) Night View Assist
NOTESInstallation:  Since the bracket (8) for the Night View Assist camera must not have an electrical contact to the body, plastic washers must be installed to insulate the bracket (8).
 
10 Disconnect electrical connector (11) from rain/light sensor (B38/2)    
11 Remove trim from left and right A-pillar    
12 Remove all grab handles from roof IMPORTANTInstallation:  Apply thread locking compound to grab handle screws when reinstalling.  
Thread locking compound Loctite 270 *BR00.45-Z-1008-02A
13 Remove both coat hooks (3).    
14.1 Open left or right vanity mirror, unclip lens for left rear vanity mirror illumination or for right rear vanity mirror illumination using a suitable tool, remove screw beneath, unclip housing and disconnect electrical connector On vehicles without rear left and right gimbal lamps (4).  
14.2 Unclip left and right gimbal lamps (4) from housing (5) using a suitable tool, remove screw beneath, unclip housing (5) and disconnect electrical connector On vehicles with rear left and right gimbal lamps (4).  
15 Remove trim from top of left and right C-pillars   AR68.30-P-4490SXS 
16 Expose and disconnect electrical wiring harness (13) of headliner (1) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe routing and attachment of electric wiring harness (13).  
17 Switch on ignition, adjust left front seat all the way to the front and all the way down; tilt seat backrest all the way back IMPORTANT After adjusting left front seat, switch ignition back off.  
18 Remove right front seat   AR91.10-P-1000SX
19 Remove top and bottom trim from right B-pillar IMPORTANT Do not remove seat belt guide bracket. AR68.30-P-4700SX 
20 Remove edge guard from all door cutouts in area of headliner (1)    
21 Detach headliner (1) from roof, push toward front and then remove through right rear door NOTES Remove headliner (1) carefully to avoid damage to the interior and the plastic coating on the inside of the windows.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
 
22 Install in the reverse order    
23 Read out fault memory, erase if necessary    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
