Replace rear crankshaft radial sealing ring - AR03.20-P-3063GZA (ML350, ML550, GL450, GL550): Notes

	Remove/install
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Risk of death when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system	Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who are carriers of electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not carry out any work on high-voltage onboard electrical systems.	-

1	Remove key from the ignition lock	Vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove the Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from vehicle and store beyond reach of the transmitter (at least 2 m).
2	Remove driven plate		AR03.30-P-8001GZA
	Clean
3	Clean crankcase and oil pan in area of end cover (4)	Cleaner from package	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
4	Remove bolts (4a, 4b)
5	Pry off end cover (4) with crankshaft radial sealing ring (5) from crankcase	Do not hit tool for prying off between end cover (4) and crankcase; the sealing surface will be damaged. Fit tool for prying off onto side recess clearances of end cover (4). If required, heat up sealant with hot air gun.
6	Remove end cover (4)
7	Clean sealing surfaces for end cover (4)	Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper as this will damage the sealing surfaces.	AR01.00-P-0050-01A

8	Install end cover (4) with crankshaft radial sealing ring (5)	Always follow instructions in the notes on application of sealant and on correct installation position of the crankshaft radial sealing ring (5) lip; otherwise there can be leaks that can damage the engine and the environment.
