Removing/installing piston rings - AR03.10-P-7311GZ: Notes

	Remove
1	Remove pistons		AR03.10-P-7021GZ
2	Remove compression ring (plain compression ring) (1) and compression ring (flat taper-faced ring) (2) using pliers from piston (4)	Pliers	Figure
3	Remove oil scraper ring (3) from piston (4)	The oil scraper ring is in three parts and must be removed by hand.
	Installing
4	Measure ring width of compression ring (plain compression ring) (1) and compression ring (flat taper-faced ring) (2)		*BE03.10-P-1003-05B
5	Measure end gap of compression ring (plain compression ring) (1) and compression ring (flat taper-faced ring) (2)		AR03.10-P-7311-02VT

		Feeler gauge	*WH58.30-Z-1004-12A
6	Insert compression ring (plain compression ring) (1) and compression ring (flat taper-faced ring) (2) using pliers from piston (4)	Pay attention to the installation position of the compression rings. The "Top" marking or manufacturer's designation must face towards the piston crown (5).
7	Measure side clearance from compression ring (plain compression ring) (1) and from compression ring (flat taper-faced ring) (2)		AR03.10-P-7311-01VT

8	Fit the oil scraper ring (3) by hand
9	Install pistons	The piston ring gaps must be offset by 120°.	AR03.10-P-7021GZ
