	Removal/installation
1.1	Activate Service mode in Tele-Aid emergency call system	Only for models 463.243/244/245/247/248/250/254/309/322/323/332/333 with TeleAid - car telephone emergency call system, code ET2	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

	Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
2	Disconnect battery ground cable	All models except 463.248 with special protection version, code 979	AR54.10-P-0003G

3	Remove clock spring contact		AR46.10-P-0200GS
4	Remove steering angle sensor (B24/8)		AR46.10-P-0300GS
5	Remove TPM with variable speed limiter switch (S40/4)		AR54.25-P-2803GS
6	Remove steering column adjustment switch (S59)		AR54.25-P-2804GS
7	Unscrew clamp screw (2)	The clamp screw (2) remains in the steering column switch module (3).
8	Detach steering column switch module (3) from the jacket tube	Installation:  The plug (5) must latch completely in the coupling (6) on the jacket tube.
9	Remove bolts (4).
10	Remove combination switch (S4)
11	Detach steering column module (N80) from steering column switch module (3)
12	Install in the reverse order
13.1	Deactivate service mode in TELE AID emergency call system	Only for models 463.243/244/245/247/248/250/254/309/322/323/332/333 with TeleAid - car telephone emergency call system, code ET2	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

14	Read out fault memory and erase	[E STAR DIAGNOSIS Stored faults which can result from lines being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work, have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work

15	Perform basic programming		AR00.19-P-0200P

16	Perform a function test	Check all functions of the multifunction steering wheel and switch on the jacket tube.
17	Conduct a road test	Check the turn signal indicator reset during a road test: The correct turn signal indicator reset is no longer guaranteed if the steering wheel is offset by more than one tooth. Airbag indicator lamp: The SRS indicator lamp must not light up at full steering angle in both directions. Position of steering wheel: If the steering wheel is not on straight, offset it by a maximum of one tooth, in the event of a larger deviation:↓
