	Remove/install
	Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	-

1	Release parking brake	When removing the brake disks (61) on the rear axle
2	Remove brake disk	Do not detach brake hose, instead attach brake caliper to vehicle so that it is free of tension. Do not kink or tension brake hose, as otherwise it will be damaged. At the front axle:

		At the rear axle	AR42.10-P-0080V
	Checking
3	Check brake lining thickness and brake disks (61)	Only replace brake pads and brake disks (61) in complete sets if necessary.
	Check brake lining thickness		AP42.10-P-4253A
	Inspect condition of brake disks		AP42.10-P-4258V
	Clean
4	If necessary, clean the perforation in the brake disks (61)		AR42.10-P-2260-01I
5	Unscrew locking bolt (63) and remove brake disk (61)	With run in parking brake drums, turn back slack adjuster of parking brake otherwise parking brake shoes will be damaged:
		See Adjust parking brake. Installation: Only replace brake disks (61) in pairs. Apply light coating of MB long-life grease to seats of brake disks (61). Replace locking bolt (63).	AR42.20-P-0540V

6	Check lining thickness and condition of parking brake shoe	After removing rear axle brake disk (61), if necessary: ↓
		Replace parking brake shoe.	AR42.20-P-0530V
7	Check parking brake cables	After removing the brake disks (61) on the rear axle Check for ease of movement and chafing marks, replace if necessary: ↓
		Replace the front parking brake cable.	AR42.20-P-0520V
		Replace the rear parking brake cable.	AR42.20-P-0525V
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Adjust parking brake	After installing brake disks (61) on rear axle	AR42.20-P-0540V
10	Bed in the parking brake brakes	After replacing the brake disks (61) on the rear axle
	Bed in parking brake according to instructions.		AP42.20-P-4290-01BA
	Risk of death caused by body parts being pulled in by rotating vehicle wheels and roller dynamometer rollers	Do not insert your hand into rotating parts. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Safeguard areas with rotating vehicle parts and dynamometer rollers against unauthorized access. Safeguard roller dynamometer from unauthorized access.	AS00.00-Z-0019-01A
11	Carry out brake test on the test stand
