	Remove/install
		When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
		Installation:  Only tighten bolts and nuts of the chassis components in the curb condition.

1	Remove front wheel

3	Detach RPM sensor from steering knuckle (5)	Vehicles without 4MATIC and without highest protection	AR42.30-P-0712SX
4	Remove bolts (1, 2) and remove bracket (3)	Vehicles with code (Z07) Top protection

7	Detach ABC valve unit of front axle and place aside	Vehicles with code (487) Active Body Control (ABC), when removing the left strut rod (18). Pressure lines remain on valve unit.	AR32.50-P-0001SX
8	Unscrew nut (18c), pull out bolt (18a) and remove strut rod (18) from front axle carrier (6)	If repair kit installed:  The bolt (18a) may not be twisted. When undoing or tightening the nut (18c) always counterhold the bolt (18a), otherwise the lock tabs for the caster adjustment in the rubber mount (18d) may be sheared off. Installation:  Screw nut (18c) of bolt (18a) all the way on until it abuts, but do not tighten yet so that the rubber mount (18d) can twist when the vehicle is rocked to settle the suspension. Tighten nut (18c) with the vehicle in curb position.

9	Detach strut rod (18) from steering knuckle (5) and remove downward		AR33.15-P-0160-01SX

10	Check rubber boots on rubber mount (18d) for damage	The rubber boots should be retrofitted to provide protection for the rubber mounts (18d). If necessary, replace or retrofit rubber boots: ↓ Remove/install rubber boots on rubber mount.	AR33.15-P-0160-03T
11	Check rubber mount (18d) of torque strut (18) for damage	Replace rubber mount (18d) if necessary: ↓ Press rubber mount of torque strut out/in:
		Vehicles without maximum protection and without 4-MATIC.	AR33.15-P-0160-02SX

12	Check rubber boot and ball joint of torque strut (18) for signs of damage	Replace torque strut (18) if necessary.
