Press torque strut rubber bushing in/out - AR33.15-P-0160-02SX

Mark 

  1. Mark rubber mount (1) relative to strut rod (2) (arrow).

    Press out 

    IMPORTANT All listed special tools are available in the extraction and insertion tool set 220 589 06 43 00.

  2. Apply extraction tool to the unchamfered side of the torque strut (2) and press out the rubber mount (1).

    Variant A:

    Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 04 (4) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.

    Variant B:

    Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 05 (4) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.

  3. Check bearing seat in torque strut (2).

    IMPORTANT Should the bearing seat have clearly noticeable scores, the torque strut (2) should be replaced.

    Pressing in 

  4. Attach chamfered side of rubber mount (1) to chamfered side of strut rod (2).

    Variant A

    IMPORTANT When aligning, check installation position of rubber mount (1) (see picture).

    IMPORTANT In the strut rod (2) installation position the bar (a) is aligned vertically in the rubber mount (1).

    Variant B

    IMPORTANT Align marking of rubber mount (A) with marking of strut rod (B).

    Align bearing core marking (C) with ball head.

    IMPORTANT Generally, the rubber mount (1) is to be positioned in the strut rod (2) such that, in the installation position for the strut rod (2), the marking for the rubber mount (A) faces down and the marking for the bearing core (C) outwards (wheel side).

    Rubber mount variants (A, B) 

    Variant A

    IMPORTANT Any raised bead (5) can point upwards or downwards.

  5. Attach insertion tool to the chamfered side of the strut rod and press in rubber mount (1) as far as the end stop.

    Variant A:

    Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 07 (7) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.

    Variant B:

    Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 05 (7) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.

  6. Turn around the torque strut (2), change the press-in tool and press the rubber mount (1) all the way in to the stop once again.

Variant A:

Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 04 (4) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.

Variant B:

Use IMPORTANT 220 589 06 43 06 (6), 220 589 06 43 05 (4) out of the SPECIAL TOOL press-out and press-in tool.
