Position piston of cylinder 1 to 30° after ignition TDC |
Crank engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation of engine until 30° marking on belt pulley/vibration damper is aligned with marking on timing case cover. The marking (A) of the camshaft bearing cap (7) must be aligned with the marking (B) of the camshaft (11).
Engine must not be cranked backwards. |

Mark camshaft adjusters and timing chain to each other with colored dots. |
