	Remove
1	Remove cylinder head covers		AR01.20-P-5014L
2	Remove cylinder shutoff oil pump		AR01.30-P-5704L
3	Remove front cover on right		AR01.30-P-5700L
4	Position engine to 30° after ignition TDC at cylinder 1	Rotate engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation of engine until 30° marking on belt pulley/vibration damper is aligned with marking on timing case cover. Engine must not be cranked backwards.
5	Slacken bolt (8) of left camshaft adjuster (4)	Before slackening bolt (8), fit on retaining clamp (7) at left camshaft adjuster (4). For slackening the bolt, install retaining device (5) at left cylinder head. The retaining device (5) can only be installed when the camshaft is in the basic position. The marking (A) of the camshaft bearing cap (2) must be aligned with the marking (B) of the camshaft (3).

6	Slacken bolt (8) of right camshaft adjuster (6)	Before slackening bolt (8), fit on retaining clamp (7) at right camshaft adjuster (6). To slacken the bolt (8), install retaining device (5) at right cylinder head. The retaining device (5) can only be installed when the camshaft is in the basic position. The marking (A) of the camshaft bearing cap (2) must be aligned with the marking (B) of the camshaft (3).

8	Remove pins of guide rails at left and right cylinder head	Remove only the pins at the inlet side.

9	Remove right camshaft adjuster (6)	Mark camshaft adjusters and timing chain to each other with colored dots. Lift timing chain off camshaft adjuster.
10	Remove left camshaft adjuster (4)	Mark camshaft adjusters and timing chain to each other with colored dots. Lift timing chain off camshaft adjuster.
	Install
11	Install right camshaft adjuster (6)	Fit timing chain onto camshaft adjuster. Colored dots at camshaft adjuster and timing chain must be aligned. Take off retaining clamp (7).
