Activating anti-theft alarm (ATA), function - GF80.50-P-2002I
MODEL 170 as of 1.6.98 with CODE (551a) Anti-theft alarm (ATA)
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) is activated by:
- Locking the vehicle with the remote control key
- Locking the vehicle with the mechanical key (Lock switch
,
only)
Signal: Lock switch 2 (SN2, ground)
- Automatic
activation (
only): If a door or the trunk lid is opened and closed again after removing the remote control key, the ATA is activated automatically 2 minutes after the last locking operation.
Function
When the vehicle is locked with the remote control key the remote control signal "lock" is sent via the radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) to the multi-function control module (N10-3). From there this signal is transmitted via a data bus (CAN) to the PSE control module (A37).
Following this signal the status of all alarm inputs is checked cyclically (0.3 s). If 20 sequential checks (6 s) indicate that the input is not activated, the corresponding alarm input is ready for triggering an alarm.
Moreover, the PSE control module (A37) activates the alarm signal siren with additional battery (H3/1) with a corresponding command via a separate data line.
The indicator LED in the ATA status/anti-towing protection switch flashes indicating that the ATA is activated.
When the vehicle is locked mechanically the signal is transmitted from the lock t switches via the IR DAS control module (N54/1) to the multi-function control module (N10-3).
When the ATA is successfully
activated, the alarm signal siren with additional battery (H3/1) beeps three times as acoustic confirmation signal. If one of the doors is not closed correctly when the ATA is activated, no
signal sounds.
- The ATA is not activated when the driver's door is open.
- Activation of the ATA interrupts any previously triggered alarm.
- When the power supply is reconnected the ATA is activated automatically if it was active before the power supply was separated.
