Check lateral runout of lower steering shaft (80a) (visual inspection). |

Unscrew fixing bolts (87d, 82a), push down console (87) away from jacket tube. Check seat of plastic washers (87a) and metal ring (87b) |

Remove height adjustment up/down motor (M20m2) |
Component parts of the height adjustment are not available, replace complete outer jacket tube if necessary. |

Remove longitudinal adjustment forward/back motor (M20m1) |

Remove locking rings (83b), removing thrust piece with spring assemblies (83) |

Detach upper bracket (85) |

| 10 |
Unscrew guide bolt (86) and pull inner jacket tube downwards out of the outer jacket tube |
Component parts of the inner jacket tube are not available, replace complete inner jacket tube if necessary. |

Assembling |
|
|
| 11 |
Lubricate inner jacket tube (81b) and push into the outer jacket tube from underneath |
The inner jacket tube must slide in the outer jacket tube without jamming. |

Screw in guide bolt (86), aligning guide groove in the inner jacket tube (81b) at the same time |

Install longitudinal adjustment forward/back motor (M20m1) and adjust jacket tube longitudinal play |
