Detach/attach transmission housing on torque converter housing. - AR27.50-P-0601A: Notes

27.7.01 Magnet in oil pan, newly included Step 4 and 26 added BT27.40-P-0003-01A
DISASSEMBLING Disassemble    
1 Fasten transmission on assembly stand   AR27.10-P-0600-01B 
    SPECIAL TOOL Assembly stand Figure
    SPECIAL TOOL Support plate Figure
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS   Support plate for transmission mount WF58.50-P-2750-04A
2 Loosen guide bush (21) and remove from transmission housing    
3 Detach oil pan (3)

REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS		 Remove magnet (69) from oil pan Vehicles as of 04/2001.
Magnet in oil pan, newly included		 BT27.40-P-0003-01A
5 Remove oil filter (5)    
6 Unscrew Torx socket bolts (19a) and remove electrohydraulic control unit (19) IMPORTANT According to condition:
Disassemble and assemble electrohydraulic control unit		 AR27.19-P-0220A 
7 Detach output flange (48) SPECIAL TOOL Socket wrench bit
IMPORTANTModel 463:  The output flange is not designed as a three-arm flange but as a cylindrical flange		 Figure
8 Press out radial seal ring (20)    
9 Remove shim (67a) IMPORTANT As of transmission no. 1658778.  
10 Remove circlip (68)    
11 Remove deep-groove ball bearing (67) from transmission housing   AR27.50-P-0601-01A

12 Remove shim (18)    
13 Unscrew Torx socket bolts (1 a, 2a) from converter housing and transmission housing COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Torx insert for Torx bolts *WH58.30-Z-1039-06A 
14 Remove transmission housing (2) from converter housing (1) Continued operations according to findings: ↓  
Remove/install multi-disc clutch K1, K2 and K3 Remove/install multiple-disc brake B2, multiple-disk pack B3 and park pawl gear AR27.50-P-0621A 
AR27.50-P-0781A 
DISASSEMBLING Assemble     
15 Using grease, install both Teflon rings (12a) in the groove so that the joint stays together    
16 Mount transmission housing (2) on converter housing (1) NOTES Align discs of multiple-disc brakes B2 and B3.  
17 Screw in Torx socket bolts (1a, 2a) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA27.40-P-1002-01A 
18 Measure end play between park pawl gear and grooved ball bearing IMPORTANT Only necessary when installing new parts, e.g. gear set, output shaft etc. AR27.50-P-0600-06A

19 Install shim (18)    
20 Install grooved ball bearing in rear transmission housing   AR27.50-P-0600-05A 
21 Insert shim (67a) IMPORTANT As of transmission no. 1658778.  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Additional shim between grooved ball bearing and output flange Transmission 722.6 BT27.10-P-0005-01A 
22 Drive radial seal ring (20) into transmission housing SPECIAL TOOL Drift Fig 3
23 Install output flange (48)   AR27.50-P-0600-04B

24 Install and tighten electrohydraulic control unit (19)

25 Install oil filter (5)

REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS		 Insert magnet (69) in oil pan Vehicles as of 04/2001.
CLEAN Clean abrasion particles from magnet. Magnet in oil pan, newly included		 BT27.40-P-0003-01A
27 Mount oil pan (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA27.10-P-1002-03A 
28 Insert guide bush (21) in transmission housing and tighten    
Test values for gear set
