AIR FROM VENTS NOT COLD ENOUGH DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1	INSPECT BLOWER UNIT AND AIR FILTER Are the blower unit intake and air filter clogged? (Refer to AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)] , or AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)	Yes	Remove the cause of the blockage. Replace the air filter if it is clogged. (Refer to AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)] , or AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL OR OTHER Switch the ignition ON (engine off). Compare the ambient temperature sensor on the multi-information display with the actual ambient temperature. Does the ambient temperature on the multi-information display correspond to the actual ambient temperature?	Yes	Go to Step 5.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
4	INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN PCM AND AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
5	INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE Inspect the refrigerant pressure. (Refer to REFRIGERANT PRESSURE CHECK in service information.) Is the refrigerant pressure normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Record the inspection results. If the refrigerant pressures on the high pressure and low pressure side are both high, go to Step 9. If the refrigerant pressures on the high pressure and low pressure sides are almost same, go to Step 12. If the refrigerant pressures on the high pressure and low pressure sides are both low, go to Step 14. If vacuum on the low pressure side and the refrigerant pressure on the high pressure side is extremely low, go to Step 15. If the refrigerant pressure on the high pressure side is low and the refrigerant pressure on the low pressure side is high, replace the A/C compressor, then perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) If the refrigerant pressure condition is under any condition other than the above, go to Step 17.
6	PERFORM REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST in service information.) Is the airflow temperature within the specified range?	Yes	Perform the repair completion verification 1.
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	VERIFY DRIVE BELT FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to DRIVE BELT INSPECTION [VIN M] , or DRIVE BELT INSPECTION [VIN Y] in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
7		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN M] , or DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN Y] in service information.)
8	VERIFY REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) (Refer to SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.5T (Refrigerant pressure sensor No. 1) [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.5T (Refrigerant pressure sensor No. 1) [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) 9	VERIFY COOLING FAN OPERATION Verify the cooling fan operation. (Refer to COOLING FAN MOTOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)] [VIN M] , or COOLING FAN MOTOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Is the operation normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
9		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
10	VERIFY CONDENSER FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to CONDENSER INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or CONDENSER INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
10		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
11	INSPECT SYSTEM PIPING Is the hose on the low pressure side hot to the touch?	Yes	Replace the refrigerant. After vacuum discharging for 1 h and charging with refrigerant to the specified level, perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to REFRIGERANT CHARGING in service information.)
11		No	Replace the refrigerant. After vacuum discharging for 15 min and charging with refrigerant to the specified level, perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
12	INSPECT EXPANSION VALVE Remove the expansion valve and verify its condition. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Is there refrigerant leakage or valve blockage?	Yes	If there is foreign matter blockage the valve, remove the foreign matter. If there is refrigerant leakage or blockage, replace the expansion valve. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
12		No	Install the expansion valve, then go to the next step. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
13	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS A/C COMPRESSOR OR AIR MIX ACTUATOR Start the engine and let it idle. Access the following dash-electrical supply unit PIDs using the M-MDS: (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) AIR_MIX_MODE_L AIR_MIX_MODE_R Is the monitoring value normal? (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [DASH_ESU] .)	Yes	After adjusting the compressor oil to the specified level, perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
13		No	Verify the air mix link and air mix door installation conditions on the side where the PID is not normal. (Refer to A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Securely and correctly installed to positions, replace the air mix actuator. (Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) (Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) Not securely and correctly installed to positions, repair the air mix link and air mix door installation conditions. (Refer to A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY in service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
14	INSPECT SYSTEM PIPING Using a gas leak detector, perform refrigerant leakage inspection. (Refer to REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION in service information.)	-	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
15	INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE Does the refrigerant pressure on the low pressure side go to vacuum or normal?	Yes	Replace the condenser and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Moisture has penetrated engine coolant.) (Refer to CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
15		No	Go to the next step.
16	INSPECT EXPANSION VALVE Remove the expansion valve and verify its condition. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Is there refrigerant leakage or valve blockage?	Yes	If there is foreign matter blockage the valve, remove the foreign matter. If there is refrigerant leakage or blockage, replace the expansion valve. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
16		No	Install the expansion valve, then go to the next step. (Refer to EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
17	VERIFY EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Verify the evaporator temperature installation condition. (Refer to EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then go to the next step.
17		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
18	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS A/C COMPRESSOR OR AIR MIX ACTUATOR Start the engine and let it idle. Access the following dash-electrical supply unit PIDs using the M-MDS: (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) AIR_MIX_MODE_L AIR_MIX_MODE_R Is the monitoring value normal? 18		No	Verify the air mix link and air mix door installation conditions on the side where the PID is not normal. (Refer to A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Securely and correctly installed to positions, replace the air mix actuator. (Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) (Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.) Not securely and correctly installed to positions, repair the air mix link and air mix door installation conditions. (Refer to A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY in service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED If refrigerant was discharged during inspection and not recharged, perform vacuum discharging and charge with new refrigerant to the specified level. (Refer to CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Is there cool airflow? (Is the result of the refrigerant system performance test normal?) (Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST in service information.)	Yes	Troubleshooting completed. (Explain repair contents to customer.)
Repair completion verification 1		No	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
