Rear Finisher Installation

  1. If a rear finisher clips has been damaged, perform the following procedure:
    1. Using a scraper, peel off the rear finisher clips from the liftgate.
      NOTE:
      • If double-sided adhesive tape remains on the liftgate, warm the tape using a drier and then remove it using a resin spatula.

    2. Remove any grease and dirt from the rear finisher clips affixing area on the liftgate.
    3. Peel off the backing of the double-sided adhesive tape.
    4. While holding the spoiler clips flange against the hem of the liftgate, affix it between the alignment marks shown in the figure.

    5. Press the contact point using fingers and apply pressure to the spoiler clip to affix it to the liftgate.
    6. Apply adhesive to the area shown in the figure.

    • Use pando 156A-type adhesive agent or equivalent.
    • Follow the instructions for the product being used to determine the adhesive drying time.
  2. Install the rear finisher bracket.
  3. Install the screws to the rear finisher bracket.

  4. Install the rear finisher molding.
  5. Install the screws.

  6. Install the rear mount camera. (With parking assist system) (See REAR MOUNT CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Install the request switch. (With advanced keyless entry system) (See REQUEST SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  8. Install the grommet of the wiring harness. (With advanced keyless entry system) (With parking assist system)

  9. Press in the rear finisher in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure and install the clips to the liftgate.

  10. Move the rear finisher in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and insert the clips to the liftgate.

  11. Install the screw.

  12. Install the cap.
  13. Install the nuts.

  14. Connect the request switch connector. (With advanced keyless entry system)

  15. Connect the rear mount camera connector. (With parking assist system)
  16. Install the liftgate garnish. (See LIFTGATE GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  17. Install the following parts:
    1. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (With power liftgate (PLG) system) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate recess cover (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  18. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
