Air Intake Actuator Inspection (Auto A/C)

CAUTION:
- If the lever position exceeds the operation range shown in the figure, the circuit in the actuator could be damaged. Always perform an actuator operation inspection with the lever movement within the range shown in the figure.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Remove the glove compartment. (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the following parts (with center display) (with Bluetooth® system):
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front scuff plate (passenger-side) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front side trim (passenger-side) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Tuner and amp unit (TAU) (with center display) (See TUNER AND AMP UNIT (TAU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Bluetooth ® unit (with Bluetooth ® system) (See Bluetooth® UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the air intake actuator. (See AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (AUTO A/C) .)
- Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the air intake actuator terminals as indicated in the table below and verify the operation condition.
- If not as indicated in the table, replace the air intake actuator. (See AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (AUTO A/C) .)
B+ Terminal Ground Terminal Operation B C FRESH → RECIRCULATE C B RECIRCULATE → FRESH - Verify that the resistance between terminals E and F, F and G matches the air intake actuator operation as shown in the graph.
- If the operation condition and resistance are not normal, replace the air intake actuator. (See AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (AUTO A/C) .)
