Rear Finisher Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate recess (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (with power liftgate) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Liftgate garnish (See LIFTGATE GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Request switch (liftgate) (See REQUEST SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Rear mount camera (with rear mount camera) (See REAR MOUNT CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Affix the double-sided adhesive tape to the position shown in the figure.

  4. Remove the nuts.

  5. Remove the cap.

  6. Remove the screws.
  7. Pull the rear finisher and detach the clips.

  8. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the position shown in the figure, move it in the direction of the arrow to remove the clips.

  9. Remove all the clips the same as in Steps  8 and 9.
  10. Perform the same procedure from Steps  7 to 10 for the opposite side of the vehicle.
  11. Remove the clips using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.

  12. Remove the rear finisher
  13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
