Power Liftgate (PLG) Touch Sensor Removal/Installation

Replacement part 

Clip

Quantity: 4

Location of use: Power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate recess (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the connector.

  4. Remove the clips.

  5. Insert a tape-wrapped remover tool between the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor and the liftgate.

  6. Move the tape-wrapped remover tool in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the clip from the liftgate.
  7. Insert the remover tool into the position shown in the figure.

  8. Using the remover tool, detach the tabs of the grommet from the liftgate.
  9. Remove the wiring harnesses from the vehicle body.
  10. Remove the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor.
  11. Move clip B in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure and remove clip B from clip A.

  12. Remove clip A from the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor.
  13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
