Rear Wiper Motor Inspection

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Rear wiper arm and blade (See REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Levitate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Levitate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Levitate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the rear wiper motor connector.
  4. Apply battery positive voltage to rear wiper motor connector terminal B, and connect terminals A and C to the ground.
  5. Verify that the rear wiper motor operates smoothly.

  6. Disconnect the ground from rear wiper motor connector terminal A while the rear wipers are operating, then verify that the rear wipers stop at the auto-stop position.
