Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 INSPECT REAR BUMPER 
  • Is there soiling of or foreign material (reflective object) on the surface of the rear bumper?
 Yes Remove dirt or foreign material (reflective object) from the surface of the rear bumper, then go to Step 4
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT AREA AROUND REAR BUMPER 
  • Remove foreign material (reflective object) or obstruction.
 Yes Remove dirt or foreign material (reflective object) from the surface of the rear bumper, then go to Step 4.
No Go to the next step.
3 VERIFY REAR BUMPER REPAIR HISTORY 
  • Has the rear bumper been repainted? (Is the paint different from the original?)
 Yes Replace the rear bumper and paint it using the original paint, then go to next step
No Go to the next step
4 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED  Yes Replace the BSM control module (RH), then go to the next step. See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
No Go to the next step
5 VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE RECORDED 
  • Are any DTCs present?
 Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
See DTC TABLE [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM)] .
No DTC troubleshooting completed
