Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  2. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  8. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22
  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  12. REMOVE ECM 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  13. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE WITH FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  15. REMOVE BATTERY COVER LOCK STRIKER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
  16. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17
  17. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18
  18. REMOVE INVERTER COVER GASKET 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31
  19. INSTALL INVERTER COVER GASKET 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31
  20. INSTALL INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Guide Pin - -
      1. Attach the 2 guide pins and install the inverter terminal cover with 2 bolts.

        Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • Do not touch the inverter cover gasket if not replacing it.
        • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the EV converter assembly.
  21. INSTALL BATTERY COVER LOCK STRIKER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  22. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20
  23. REMOVE BATTERY COVER LOCK STRIKER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24
  24. REMOVE UPPER INVERTER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25
  25. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26
  26. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL GASKET 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32
  27. INSTALL UPPER INVERTER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Guide Pin - -
      1. Attach the 2 guide pins and install the upper inverter cover sub-assembly with 3 bolts.

        Torque: 4.5 N.m (46 kgf/cm, 40 in.lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • Do not touch the inverter terminal gasket if not replacing it.
        • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the EV converter assembly.
  28. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY 
  29. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  30. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Captain Seat Type) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  31. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 33

  32. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2023 - ]

  33. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH BELT HOLE COVER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [12/2023 - ]

  34. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2023 - ]

  35. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36

  36. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [12/2023 - ]

  37. REMOVE DECK TRIM POCKET COVER 
    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38
  38. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39

  39. REMOVE ROPE HOOK 
    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 40
  40. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the rope hook.
  41. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 54

  42. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY

  43. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR FLOOR SILENCER

  44. REMOVE NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET (for Captain Seat Type)

  46. REMOVE NO. 6 HV BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  47. DISCONNECT NO. 2 HV FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.

      2. Disengage the 2 clamps and open the No. 2 traction battery device box cover as shown in the illustration.
      3. Using an insulated tool, remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the No. 2 HV floor under wire.
        NOTE:

        To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.

      4. Remove the nut and disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.
  48. DISCONNECT HV BATTERY CHARGER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Using an insulated tool, remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the HV battery charger wire.
        NOTE:

        To prevent the wire harness from being caught, make sure to bundle the wire harness using insulating tape or equivalent.

      2. Remove the nut and disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.

      1. Remove the 3 nuts.
      2. Disengage the clamp.
      3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the HV battery charger wire from the floor panel hole.
  49. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  50. REMOVE UPPER INVERTER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.

      *a Waterproof Seal - -
  51. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.

      1. Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage between the terminals of the 2 phase connectors.

        Standard Voltage

        0 V

        HINT: 

        Use a measuring range of DC 750 V or more on the voltmeter.

  52. REMOVE HV BATTERY CHARGER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:
    • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.
    • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
    • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly when connecting the connector.

  53. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  55. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

      1. Remove the 4 bolts (A), 3 screws (B) and clip (C).
      2. Turn the 3 clips (D) and remove the front floor cover RH from the vehicle body.
        NOTE:

        If the 3 clips are not turned when the front floor cover RH is removed, the front floor cover RH or stud bolt may be damaged.

        HINT: 

        Do not remove the clips from the front floor cover RH.

  60. REMOVE NO. 2 HV FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

      1. Remove the 2 bolts and 13 nuts.
      2. Remove the 6 clamps.
        NOTE:

        If the clamp is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.

      3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the No. 2 HV floor under wire from the floor panel hole.
