Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2023 - ] 
  2. CHANGE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM SETTINGS 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2023 - ]
  3. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2023 - ]
  4. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2023 - ]
  6. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2023 - ]
  7. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [12/2023 - ]

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2023 - ]
  9. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

  11. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips and 3 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH.
  13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [12/2023 - ]
  15. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip as shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
      4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  16. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD

  21. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 1 Instrument panel speaker panel.
  23. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  24. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 2 Instrument panel speaker panel.
  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  26. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side and RH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.
  28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH

      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the instrument cluster finish panel end.
  31. REMOVE BLE INDOOR DIGITAL KEY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Digital Key System) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2023 - ]
  32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *A w/o Digital Key System - -
      1. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.
      2. w/o Digital Key System:

        1. Disengage the 2 claws.

      3. Disconnect each connector.
      4. Disengage the clamp.
      5. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.

        Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [09/2023 - ]

      1. Remove the clip.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts <A>, 2 bolts <B> and nut <C>.

      1. Remove the clip.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts <B>, 2 nuts <C> and screw <D>.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disengage the 5 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
        • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
  33. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 2 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly is necessary.
