Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

        Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL TURBINE OUTLET ELBOW GASKET

      1. Install a new turbine outlet elbow gasket to the converter with catalyst assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Turbine outlet elbow gaskets are located in the grooves all around.
        • After assembly, remove any peeling residue on the flange surface.
  3. INSTALL TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Rotatory direction - -
      1. Rotate the converter with catalyst assembly in vehicle outer side to secure removal space.
      2. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 4 stud bolts.

        Torque: 19.5 N.m (199 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      3. Temporarily install the turbocharger sub-assembly and cylinder head with the 4 new nuts.
      4. Install the No. 1 turbo oil pipe and turbocharger sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Do not apply excessive force to the turbocharger sub-assembly and No. 1 turbo oil pipe.

      5. Install the turbocharger sub-assembly with the 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        After tightening the 4 nuts to the specified torque, tighten the first nut again.

  4. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE CLAMP 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  5. INSTALL CONVERTER WITH CATALYST ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR BRACKET

      *A 

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      *B 

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  7. CONNECT NO. 2 TURBO WATER HOSE

      *a Paint Mark (White) - -
      1. Connect the No. 2 turbo water hose.
  8. CONNECT NO. 3 TURBO WATER HOSE

      *a Paint Mark (Yellow) - -
      1. Connect the No. 3 turbo water hose.
  9. INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  10. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Sensor 1) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    Specified tightening torque 

    Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

  11. INSTALL DASH PANEL HEAT INSULATOR 

    Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf/cm, 43 in.lbf) 

  12. INSTALL COMPRESSOR INLET ELBOW SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Protrusion - -
      1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly and turbocherger sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  13. INSTALL VACUUM REGULATING VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  14. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
  15. INSTALL AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    See step  15

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  16. CONNECT NO. 1 VENTILATION PRESSURE SENSOR HOSE 
  17. CONNECT PURGE VALVE (NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY) 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  18. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  19. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  19

  20. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 55
  21. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 56
  22. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  23. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

  24. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    See step  1

  25. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ]

  26. ADD COOLANT (for Inter cooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  27. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Intercooler) 

    See step  1

  28. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 

    See step  3

  29. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2022 - ]
