Removal [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  4. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  6. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  7. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 
    1. w/ Cool Box:

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

    2. w/o Cool Box:

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

  8. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH

      1. Using moulding remover B, detach the clip and claw as shown in the illustration.
      2. Detach the claw as shown in the illustration.
      3. Detach the guide and remove the instrument panel side panel LH as shown in the illustration.
  13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
  14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

    After removing the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly, plug the holes in the No. 2 heater to register duct with the protective tape or others.

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2) Adhesive Tape
      1. Pull in the removal direction (1) as shown in the illustration and detach the clip and guide.
      2. Pull in the removal direction (2) as shown in the illustration and detach the guide and remove the front pillar garnish assembly LH.
      3. Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover, such as a cloth, and secure the edges of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish assembly LH is removed.

    2. When reusing a front pillar garnish assembly LH:

      1. Remove the clip from the front pillar garnish assembly LH.
  35. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

      Remove in this Direction (1) Protective Tape
      1. Apply the protective tape as shown in the illustration.
      2. Using moulding remover B, detach the clip as shown in the illustration.
  39. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for Side) 
    HINT: 
    Use the same procedure for the LH and RH Side.
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  40. REMOVE FRONT NO. 5 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for Center) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
  41. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL END (w/ Headup Display)

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2) - -
      1. Insert moulding remover B in the position shown in the illustration.
      2. Place your hand in the gap as shown in the illustration, detach the claw.
      3. Detach the guide and remove the instrument cluster finish panel end as shown in the illustration.
  42. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

      1. Disconnect each connector.
      2. Disconnect the airbag connector.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector:

        Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [12/2023 - ]

      3. Detach the clamp.
      4. Detach the claw.

      1. Remove the 6 bolts <E>.
      2. Remove the nut <G>.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts <F>.
      4. Remove the 2 clips.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Detach the guide as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly or vehicle interior.
        • Make sure that the wire harness does not get caught on anything as it may become damaged.

      1. Remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly or vehicle interior.
        • Make sure that the wire harness does not get caught on anything as it may become damaged.
