Disassembly [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [12/2023 - ]
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR UPPER TRIM COVER LH

      1. Using a moulding remover A, detach the claw and remove the front door upper trim cover LH.
  4. REMOVE DOOR ARMREST COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      1. Using a moulding remover A, detach the claw and guide to remove the door armrest cover sub-assembly LH.

      Turn in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.
      2. Turn the service hole cover clip 45°clockwise to remove the 3 service hole cover clips as shown in the illustration.
      3. Detach the clip to remove front door service hole cover LH.
      4. Pull out the open lever front door lock remote control cable assembly LH and front door inside locking cable assembly LH from the front door service hole cover LH.
  17. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  18. REMOVE HOLE PLUG

      1. Connect the connector.
      2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the ignition switch to ON.

        Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2023 - ]

      3. Move the front door glass sub-assembly LH so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
        WARNING:
        • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

        • If an airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious injury.

        Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

      2. Disconnect the connector.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts.
        NOTE:

        After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass sub-assembly LH to fall.

      4. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

      Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw and pull up the connector cover as shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the connector.
      3. Detach the claw and pull up the holder as shown in the illustration.
      4. Remove the front door outside handle assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

      1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the "TORX" screw.
      2. Remove the front door lock cylinder assembly.

      1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the "TORX" screw.
      2. Detach the claw and remove the front door outside handle cover.

  39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    NOTE:

    When removing the front door weatherstrip LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the front door weatherstrip LH using a heat light.
    STANDARD VALUE

    Part Temperature
    Front Door Weatherstrip LH 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front door weatherstrip LH excessively.

      1. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape and front door weatherstrip.
        NOTE:

        Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front door panel.

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Heat the adhesive of the front door weatherstrip LH using a heat light.
      2. Detach the double-sided Tape and clip to remove the front door weatherstrip LH.

  52. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH (w/ Weatherstrip) 
    NOTE:

    When removing the front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the front door weatherstrip LH using a heat light.

    HINT: In order to remove the front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH, first remove the front door panel.

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Remove the 4 bolts and front door panel LH.
        WARNING:

        Be sure to perform this procedure with 2 or more persons as the part is very heavy.

      2. Heat the adhesive of the front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH using a heat light.
      3. Detach the double-sided Tape and clip to remove the front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH.
