Installation [10/2017 - 09/2019]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for LH Side) 
    1. Apply diluted liquid soap to the outside of a new rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion.

      Diluted Liquid Soap
      Front of the Vehicle
      NOTE:

      Do not use grease or undiluted liquid soap. Doing so may cause the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion to slip out.

      HINT: 

      A 20% liquid soap and water concentration is recommended.

    2. Temporarily install the rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion while confirming the installation direction.
    3. Using SST, install the rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member sub-assembly and rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion.

      NOTE:

      Apply grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before use.

  2. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION LH

      *B for RH Side
      Diluted Liquid Soap
      Front of the Vehicle

      Apply diluted liquid soap to the outside of a new rear suspension member front body mounting cushion.

      NOTE:

      Do not use grease or undiluted liquid soap. Doing so may cause the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion to slip out.

      HINT:

    2. Temporarily install the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion while confirming the installation direction.
    3. Using SST, install the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member sub-assembly and rear suspension member front body mounting cushion.

      NOTE:

      Apply grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before use.

  4. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR UPPER STOPPER 
    1. Install the 2 rear suspension member rear upper stoppers to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
  6. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT UPPER STOPPER 
    1. Install the 2 rear suspension member front upper stoppers to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
  7. INSTALL NO. 4 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 4 exhaust pipe support bracket to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

  8. INSTALL NO. 5 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the No. 4 exhaust pipe support bracket.

  9. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 
    1. Insert the rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly from the front of the vehicle. Then temporarily tighten the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate and toe control link sub-assembly LH with the nut.

    2. Align the matchmarks on the rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly, rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate and rear suspension member sub-assembly.

  10. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Insert the bolt from the front of the vehicle. Then temporarily tighten the rear upper control arm assembly LH with the nut and washer.

  12. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Insert the bolt from the back of the vehicle. Then temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly LH with the nut and washer.

  14. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Insert the rear suspension arm attachment sub-assembly from the back of the vehicle. Then temporarily tighten the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate and rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly LH with the nut.

  16. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Insert the bolt from the back of the vehicle. Then temporarily tighten the lower control arm assembly LH with the nut.

  18. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  20. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  21. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  22. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  23. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  24. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the rear suspension member sub-assembly with an engine lifter using 4 attachments or equivalent tools as shown in the illustration.

      WARNING:
      • The rear suspension member sub-assembly is a very heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
      • If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is not securely supported, it may drop, resulting in serious injury.

      NOTE:

      Use attachments to keep the rear suspension member sub-assembly level.

    2. Raise the rear suspension member sub-assembly until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member sub-assembly and vehicle body.
      NOTE:

      When raising the rear suspension member sub-assembly, be careful not to damage the vehicle body or other components installed to the vehicle.

    3. Install the rear lower suspension member stopper LH, rear lower suspension member stopper RH, 2 rear lower suspension member stoppers and rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 8 bolts.

      Bolt A 

      Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf) 

  25. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - ]

  26. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  27. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY 
  28. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  29. FULLY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  30. FULLY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  31. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  32. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  33. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  34. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  35. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  36. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  37. FULLY TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  38. FULLY TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  39. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  40. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  41. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  42. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Dynamic Rear Steering) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  43. INSPECT REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  44. INSPECT REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  45. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  46. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  47. INSPECT LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  48. INSPECT LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  49. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 
    1. Pass the connector through the hole to the inside of the vehicle and install the grommet of the parking brake actuator harness.

    2. Connect the connector.
    3. Install the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

  65. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  66. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
