Removal [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  11. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

      1. Lift up the rope hook as shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, lift up the rope hook case as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        Tape the thin-bladed screwdriver tip before use.

      3. Remove the bolt and rope hook assembly.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the other side.

  12. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

      1. Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09813-00010 
        NOTE:

        To prevent the assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to insert SST straight into the cutout.

      2. Pull SST as shown in the illustration to detach the claw.
        NOTE:

        To prevent the assist grip assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Use the same procedure for the claw on the other side of the assist grip cover.
        • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

      Push the Connector Lock Pull Out the Lock Lever
      1. for Front Pillar LH Side:

        1. Remove the protective cover installed to the front pillar LH.

        2. Remove the bolt.

        3. Disconnect the connector.

        4. Disconnect the washer hose.

        5. Detach the clamp.

        6. Install the protective cover to the front pillar LH.

      2. for Front Pillar RH Side:

        1. Remove the protective cover installed to the front pillar RH.

        2. Pull out the connector with its connector lock pushed to disconnect the connector.

        3. Detach the clamp.

        4. Install the protective cover to the front pillar RH.

      3. for Windshield Glass Side:

        1. Disconnect each connector.

      4. for Rear Pillar RH Side:

        1. Disconnect each connector.

        2. Detach the clamp.

        3. Disconnect the washer hose.

    2. for Moon Roof:

      3. Insert your hand at the position shown in the illustration and pull the clip pedestal in the removal direction (3) indicated by the arrow to detach the clip.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the roof headlining assembly.

      1. Pull in the removal direction (1) as shown in the illustration and detach the claw.
      2. Pull in the removal direction (2) as shown in the illustration and detach the fastener.
      3. Insert your hand at the position shown in the illustration, detach the hook toward the inside of the vehicle.

      1. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Check that the corners of the roof headlining assembly are free of bending, twisting and other deformation and that none of the mounted parts are falling off.
        • Do not damage the roof headlining assembly and body interior.
        • The headlining assembly must be carried out of the vehicle by multiple people to prevent deformation of the roof headlining assembly.
  63. REMOVE INNER NO. 1 ROOF SIDE GARNISH SPACER LH (for 5-Passenger) 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacing the inner No. 1 roof side garnish spacer LH.
