Disassembly [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [12/2021 - ]
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL

      1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the claws to remove the No. 2 door inside handle bezel.
  4. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

      1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clips, claws and guides as shown in the illustration.
      2. Disconnect connector to remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door upper armrest base panel.

  14. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 25 Speakers)

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      1. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips and remove the rear door frame garnish.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT BELT SEAL

      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
      2. Disengage the clamps.
      3. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips and remove the rear door service hole cover.
      4. Pull out the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly from the rear door service hole cover as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

      1. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clip and remove the No. 2 rear door weatherstrip.
  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
      2. Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

        Standard Measurement

        A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) - -
        NOTE:

        Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

      3. Lightly press the drill against the rivet to drill off the rivet flange, and remove the rivet.
        WARNING:

        Be careful of the drilled rivet, as they may be hot.

        NOTE:
        • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
        • Prying the rivet with the rivet with the may damage the rivet installation hole or drill bit.
      4. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly.
  26. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the hole plug.
      2. Connect the connector to the power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.
      3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

        Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ]

      4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      5. Move the rear door glass sub-assembly until the bolts appear in the service holes.
      6. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

        Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

      2. Disconnect the connector from the power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts.
      4. Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

  33. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Easy Closer)

  34. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/o Easy Closer)

  35. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws.
      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disconnect the connector.
      3. Disengage the claws and move the lever as shown in the illustration.
      4. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.
  36. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER

      1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the TORX screw.

        HINT: 

        The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

      2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle cover.

      1. Disengage the clamp.
      2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

        HINT: 

        The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

      3. Disengage the guides to remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape with rear door weatherstrip from rear door panel.
        NOTE:

        Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear door panel.

  42. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
  43. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clip.
      2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door No. 4 weatherstrip.
      3. Remove the double-sided tape with rear door No. 4 weatherstrip from rear door panel.
        NOTE:

        Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear door panel.

  44. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING
