Removal [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  5. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23
  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27
  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 30

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28
  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31

  14. REMOVE DOOR LOCK COVER SET

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Easy Closer)

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts.
      3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock with motor assembly.
      4. Remove the front door lock with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.
  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/o Easy Closer)

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock with motor assembly.
      3. Remove the front door lock with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.
  17. REMOVE DOOR LOCK WIRING HARNESS SEAL (w/ Easy Closer) 
    NOTE:

    When reusing a removed front door lock with motor assembly, replace the door lock wiring harness seal with a new one.

  18. REMOVE DOOR LOCK WIRING HARNESS SEAL (w/o Easy Closer) 
    NOTE:

    When reusing a removed front door lock with motor assembly, replace the door lock wiring harness seal with a new one.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Easy Closer)

      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.
  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Easy Closer)

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.
