Disassembly [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR GRIP 
    1. Using moulding remover A, detach the 5 claws and open the cover.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 "TORX" screws.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the back door grip.
  3. REMOVE LOWER BACK DOOR STOPPER CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 lower back door stopper cushions.

  4. REMOVE CENTER BACK DOOR GARNISH 
    1. Detach the 5 clips and 4 claws, remove the center back door garnish.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
  5. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Detach the 3 clips and 2 claws and remove the back door side garnish LH.

  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH 
    1. Detach the clip and 4 claws and remove the back door side garnish RH.

  8. DISCONNECT POWER BACK DOOR ROD 
    1. Move the back door to a half-open position so that the hole in the center of the back door service hole cover is aligned lengthwise with the power back door rod.

      *a Back Door is Half-open
    2. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the stop ring from power back door rod as shown in the illustration.

    3. Detach the ball joint and disconnect the power back door rod.
  9. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 back door service hole cover.

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY BOLT 
    1. Remove the back door stay bolt.

  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY PLATE 
    1. Detach the hook and back door stay plate.

  12. REMOVE LIFT GATE WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Detach the 25 clips and remove the lift gate weatherstrip.

      NOTE:

      Do not pull strongly on the weatherstrip as it may be damage.

  13. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH 
    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 14 clips and remove the back door garnish as shown in the illustration.

  14. REMOVE REAR HEADER SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 19 Speakers) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  15. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  6

  16. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  18. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  19. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  20. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  21. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  22. REMOVE SWITCH BEZEL 

    See step  5

  23. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH 

    See step  6

  24. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  25. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH RETAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  26. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  27. REMOVE BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    See step  2

  28. REMOVE REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  29. REMOVE CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 cushions.

    1. Remove the bolt and lower back door stopper.
