Removal [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
  3. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  8. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
  9. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the grommet, 2 clips and No. 1 radiator to support seal.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 air cleaner inlet from the upper radiator support sub-assembly and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER UPPER RETAINER 
    1. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the hood control cable assembly from the front bumper upper retainer.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and front bumper upper retainer from the vehicle.
  13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  14. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the hood lock support sub-assembly.

    2. for HV Model:
      1. Disconnect the connector A.
    3. Disengage the clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly together with hood lock support sub-assembly from the vehicle.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE 
    1. Disengage the claws and guides to remove the No. 2 radiator air guide from the radiator assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE LH 
    1. Disengage the claw and guide to remove the No. 1 radiator air guide LH from the radiator assembly.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE RH 
    1. Disengage the claw and guide to remove the No. 1 radiator air guide RH from the radiator assembly.

  18. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt to disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  19. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE A 
    1. While pressing the end of the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A into the end of the cooler condenser assembly, use pliers to squeeze together both sides of the piping clamp until it breaks apart.

      *1 Cooler Refrigerant Liquid Pipe A *2 Cooler Condenser Assembly
      *3 Piping Clamp - -
      *a Press In - -
      NOTE:
      • If any foreign matter is adhered to the connecting part, brush it off or use compressed air to remove it.
      • Make sure that fragments of the piping clamp do not enter the piping.
    2. Disconnect the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.
      NOTE:

      Clean off any foreign matter near the ends of the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A and cooler condenser assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A.
      NOTE:

      Wrap the open ends of the separated cooler condenser assembly and cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A accessory assembly with vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    4. Remove the piping clamp.
  20. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claws and guides to remove the cooler condenser assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the cooler condenser assembly or radiator assembly when removing the cooler condenser assembly.
