Removal [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND CLIP 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws, and clips relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 
    1. Disable the autoaway/return function by changing the customize parameter.

      Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [10/2014 - ]

      WARNING:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the autoaway/return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off.
  3. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE ARMREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the console armrest lid.
    2. Put protective tape around the console armrest assembly.

    3. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration and pull in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the 2 clips.
      NOTE:

      Before attempting to remove the clip on the front end of the console armrest assembly, make sure to first remove the clip on the rear end. Otherwise, the clip on the rear end may become damaged.

    4. Detach the 4 clips and remove the console armrest assembly.

  6. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL 
    1. Put protective tape around the upper rear console panel.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the upper rear console panel.
  7. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Put protective tape around the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 6 clips and guide and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.
  8. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Put protective tape around the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 7 clips and guide and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.
  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel LH.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 5 clips and 3 guides.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument side panel LH.
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 8 clips.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <A> or <B>.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides.
    3. Disconnect the connector, detach the clamp and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  12. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 
    1. Put protective tape around the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.

      *a Screws <A> or <B>

    2. Remove the screw <A> or <B>.
    3. Using molding remover B, detach the 13 clips and 4 claws.
    4. Disconnect the connectors, detach the clamp and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.
  13. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 switch hole base.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 6 clips.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.
  14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel RH.

    2. Using molding remover B, detach the 5 clips and 3 guides.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument side panel RH.
  15. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

      *2 No. 2 Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Garnish
      Protective Tape
    2. Place your hand as shown in the illustration, and then pull the No. 2 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the 12 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly together with the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE 
    1. Pull in the removal direction (1) and detach the 6 clips.

    2. Lift up in the removal direction (2) and remove the instrument panel finish plate.
  17. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  18. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

    2. Place your hand as shown in the illustration, and then pull the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the 15 clips and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
  19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 clips <C>.
    3. Using a molding remover B, detach the 5 clips and 4 claws.
    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  20. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [09/2017 - ]

  21. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the claw and disconnect the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

      *1 Glove Compartment Door Stopper Sub-assembly
    2. Slightly bend the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door assembly until it is horizontal.
    3. Pull the glove compartment door assembly toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove it.

      NOTE:

      When removing the glove compartment door assembly, make sure to pull horizontally. Pulling the glove compartment door assembly upward causes the hinges to become loose.

  22. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the front pillar garnish assembly LH can be removed.
  23. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH so that the front pillar garnish assembly RH can be removed.
  24. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27 [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  26. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips, 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  27. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips, 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and claw and remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both front No. 2 speaker assemblies.

    NOTE:

    Do not touch the cone part of the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
  30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2014 - ]

  31. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull and slide the lock slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When handling the passenger airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts <D> and screw <A> or <B>.
    4. Remove the 2 passenger airbag installation bolts <E>.
    5. Detach the 7 clips and 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
