Removal [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  4. REMOVE TOOL BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  7. PARKING LOCK FORCED RELEASE 
  8. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the 7 clips and upper radiator support seal.

  9. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 
    1. Remove the 7 clips and radiator cover plate.

  10. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

      Raise the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly to detach the 2 pins. Then remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket, and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

  12. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  13. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  14. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Remove the 15 screws, 3 clips and No. 1 engine under cover assembly.

    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Detach the clamp and disconnect the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner assembly LH.
    3. Disconnect the vacuum hose sub-assembly.
    4. Pull out the 3 air cleaner assembly LH pins from the air cleaner support bracket and radiator upper support.

    5. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner assembly LH.
  44. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly connector.
    3. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner assembly RH.
    4. Disconnect the 2 vacuum hose sub-assemblies.
    5. Pull out the 3 air cleaner assembly RH pins from the air cleaner support bracket and radiator upper support.

    6. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner assembly RH.
  45. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the fuel vapor feed pipe.

  46. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

    1. Release the retainer and disconnect the outlet heater water hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe as shown in the illustration.

    HINT: 

    After disconnecting the wire harness, secure it with tape or equivalent to keep it out of the way.

    1. Remove the upper relay block cover from the No. 1 engine room relay block.
    2. Detach the clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt.
    4. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the No. 2 engine wire from the No. 1 engine room relay block.
  58. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    HINT: 

    After disconnecting the wire harness, secure it with tape or equivalent to keep it out of the way.

      1. Detach the clamp.

      1. Detach the 2 clamps.
    3. Remove the nut.
    4. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the engine wire from the No. 1 engine room relay block.
    5. Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

    6. Detach the clamp.
    7. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the No. 1 semiconductor power integration ECU from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    9. Detach the claw and disconnect the junction connector.

  59. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE WIRE 

    HINT: 

    After disconnecting the wire harness, secure it with tape or equivalent to keep it out of the way.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 3 engine wire from the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly and wire harness clamp bracket.
  60. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM WIRE 

    HINT: 

    After disconnecting the wire harness, secure it with tape or equivalent to keep it out of the way.

    1. Remove the bolt. Then disconnect the absorber and absorber bracket.

  108. DISCONNECT FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH (for AWD) 

    HINT:
