Removal [09/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH (for 2WD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

  4. REMOVE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

  5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. for 2WD:

      Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    2. for AWD:

      Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 1 turbo water hose and No. 2 turbo water hose from the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 3 turbo water hose and No. 4 turbo water hose from the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 PCV TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts to disconnect the No. 1 PCV tube from the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the gasket from the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PCV TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts to disconnect the No. 2 PCV tube from the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the gasket from the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

  10. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE 
    1. for Bank 1:

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the vacuum hose from the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

      for Bank 2:

      Detach the 2 clamps to disconnect the vacuum hose from the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR HOSE 
    1. for Bank 1:

      Loosen the clamp to remove the No. 1 air hose from the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow.

    2. Loosen the clamp to remove the No. 2 air hose from the No. 1 compressor outlet elbow.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 1 turbo insulator.

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 TURBO INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 3 turbo insulator.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt from the No. 1 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and turbo water pipe stay.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and union bolt to disconnect the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly LH.

    4. Remove the gasket from the union bolt.
    5. Remove the gasket from the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly LH.

    6. Remove the 3 nuts and No. 1 turbocharger sub-assembly.

    7. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt from the No. 2 air inlet duct sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and union bolt to disconnect the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH.

    3. Remove the gasket from the union bolt.
    4. Remove the gasket from the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH.

    5. Remove the bolt, 3 nuts and No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly.

    6. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 5 TURBO INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 5 turbo insulator from the cylinder head sub-assembly LH.
  17. REMOVE TURBO OIL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly RH.
