Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure
- TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT
HINT:
All bolts, screws, nuts and clips relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.
- RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Cool Box)

- DISABLE AUTOAWAY / RETURN FUNCTION
- Disable the autoaway / return function by changing the customize parameter. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - ]
.WARNING:
Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway / return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT:
Performing the above operation causes the autoaway / return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disable the autoaway / return function by changing the customize parameter. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - ]

- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] .
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - 08/2019] Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ] .

- REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Cool Box)

- REMOVE COOLING BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Cool Box)

- REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER LH
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
- REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
- Put protective tape around the hole cover.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
* a Protective Tape Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the hole cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION* a Bolt <C> Detach the 15 claws.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.
Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the 2 control cables.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.
- Put protective tape around the hole cover.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER RH
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Detach the 4 claws.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both instrument panel box door knobs.
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
- REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
- REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Using a clip remover, detach the 6 claws.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
- REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both assist grip sub-assemblies.
Put protective tape around the assist grip plug.
TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION* a Protective Tape Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the assist grip plug.
HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Use the same procedure for all assist grip plugs.

- Detach the 2 claws and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Put protective tape around the front pillar garnish LH.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
* a Protective Tape Detach the clip and 3 guides.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
- Protect the curtain shield airbag.
Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

- Put protective tape around the front pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 .
- REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT
- Fold back the front floor carpet.
- Detach the clip and remove the rear No. 4 air duct.
- REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT
- Fold back the front floor carpet.
- Detach the clip and remove the rear No. 2 air duct.
- REMOVE NO. 2 COOLER AIR DUCT
- Remove the No. 2 cooler air duct.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY
- Pull and slide the lock slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.NOTE:
When handling the passenger airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

- Loosen the bolt and disconnect connector A.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness.
- Remove the 2 passenger airbag installation bolts <E>.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

- Remove the 6 bolts <F>.

- Pull and slide the lock slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.
