Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] .
NOTE:After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] .
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - 08/2019] Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ] .
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

- REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

- REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER LH

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

- REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.
- Using a screwdriver, release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
* a Connector Lock Protective Tape NOTE:When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.
