Parking Brake Cable: Removal

  1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY 

    HINT

    Refer to the instructions for removal of the parking brake control pedal assembly (See REMOVAL ).

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull up the claw of the parking brake control pedal assembly
    2. Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the parking brake control pedal assembly
    3. Remove the clip and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  4. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  5. REMOVE REAR DISC  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  7. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  10. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  11. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY )
  12. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, disengage the 2 clamps, and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly form the body

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the cable support bracket.

    3. Remove the 2 cable support brackets from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  16. REMOVE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and cable support bracket
