Brake Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE BOOSTER PUSH ROD  (See INSPECTION )
  2. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
    2. Install the brake master cylinder sub-assembly to the booster assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)

    3. Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), connect the 2 brake lines to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      Torque: 

      without union nut wrench 

      15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

      with union nut wrench 

      14 N*m (143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 250 mm (9.84 in.)
      • This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

    4. Engage the clamp and connect the connector

  3. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK 
    1. Install the No 3 engine room relay block with the bolt and nut

    Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  6. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID  (See BRAKE FLUID )
  7. BLEED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER  (See BLEEDING )
  8. BLEED BRAKE LINE  (See BRAKE FLUID )
  9. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR  (See BLEEDING )
  10. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK 
  11. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  12. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  13. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOLDING LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOLDING RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  22. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  23. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
