Parking Brake Cable: Removal

HINT:

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH.

      HINT:

      Do not disconnect the flexible hose from the rear brake caliper assembly LH.

  3. REMOVE REAR DISC  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT SET LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.1  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.2  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  9. SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR REAR LH (for 4WD)  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH NUT (for 4WD)  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD)  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO. 3

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 from the backing plate.
    2. Remove the 4 nuts and 2 bolts and separate the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 from the body.
    3. Separate the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 from the equalizer and remove the parking brake cable assembly No. 3.

    5. Remove the parking brake cable support bracket No. 1 from the parking brake cable assembly No. 3.
