REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING (For 4WD): Removal
HINT:
Replace the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR REAR LH
- remove the bolt and separate the speed sensor from the axle carrier.NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
- Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
- remove the bolt and separate the speed sensor from the axle carrier.
- REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH NUT
- Using SST(s) and a hammer, unstake the staked part of the axle hub LH nut.
SST 09930-00010
NOTE: Loosen the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the screw of the drive shaft may be damaged. - While applying the brakes, remove the lock axle hub LH nut.
- Using SST(s) and a hammer, unstake the staked part of the axle hub LH nut.
- SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the bolt, and separate the flexible hose from the shock absorber.
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate rear disc brake caliper assembly.

NOTE: Use a string or other device to keep the brake caliper from hanging down.
- REMOVE REAR DISC
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 4 bolts and the rear axle hub & bearing assembly LH.
