Section 4 (Cooling (3UZ-FE)): Radiator: Installation

- INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
- Install the 2 radiator support cushions and 2 radiator lower supports to the radiator.
- Install the fan to the radiator, and attach the 3 claws.
- Install the radiator and attach the ECM outlet duct.
- Align the radiator with the condenser. Then install the radiator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
- INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE
- Connect the outlet tube.
- Attach the tube to the radiator's clamp.
- CONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET TUBE
- Connect the inlet tube.
- CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET
- Connect the hose outlet.
HINT:
- Face the clamp's claw toward the bottom of the vehicle.
- Make sure the clearance between the clamp edge and radiator hose edge (labeled A) is between 1 to 5 mm (0.039 to 0.197 in.).
- Insert the hose until it contacts the radiator. Make sure the clearance between the hose and radiator (labeled B) is between 0 to 2.5 mm (0 to 0.098 in.).
- Connect the hose outlet.
- CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET
- Connect the hose inlet.
- ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See COOLANT )
- CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
- Check for engine coolant leaks (see COOLING SYSTEM ).
- INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
- Install the inlet with the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
- Install the inlet with the bolt.
- INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the cover with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
- Install the cover with the 2 nuts.
- INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform initialization procedure (see

).NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
