Parking Brake Cable: Removal

  1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER (for Manual Transmission) 

    HINT:

    Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER " (See REMOVAL  ).

  2. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL (for Automatic Transmission) 

    HINT:

    Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL " (See REMOVAL  ).

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull up the parking brake claw.
    2. Remove the lock nut and No. 1 wire adjusting nut of the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake.
    3. Remove the clip and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake.
  4. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (See  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  7. REMOVE REAR DISC (See  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING (See Step 4 in  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING (See Step 5 in  DISASSEMBLY   )

  10. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET (See Step 6 in  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  11. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY (See Step 8 in  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  12. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY (See Step 7 in  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  13. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER (See Step 9 in  DISASSEMBLY   ) 
  14. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and disengage the 2 clamps and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly LH.
    2. Separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly LH from the parking brake equalizer.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 cable support brackets from the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.
