Test TC-141D - Governor Pressure Not Equal To Target @ 15-20 Psi
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
Perform TEST TC-141A before proceeding. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
- Using scan tool, actuate governor pressure solenoid at zero percent duty cycle and read governor pressure sensor volts. If voltage cycles between 0.0 and 3.8 volts, go to step 3). If voltage does not cycle between 0.0 and 3.8 volts go to next step.
- Turn engine off. Install a pressure gauge on transmission at governor pressure port. See appropriate AUTO TRANS OVERHAUL article. Start engine and compare scan tool and gauge readings. If readings are within 10 psi of each other, perform TEST TC-141C . If readings are not within 10 psi of each other, perform TEST TC-141B .
- Drive vehicle at 20 MPH. Using scan tool, monitor governor pressure and target pressure. If pressures do not stay consistently within 5 psi of each other, perform TEST TC-141C . If pressures stay consistently within 5 psi of each other, no problem is found at this time. See INACTIVE DTC CONDITION . Test is complete.
