Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  4. Pull down on the front park brake cable (3) and remove the front park brake cable (3) from the connector (1).
  5. Remove the park brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
  6. Remove the rear brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9) .
  7. Remove the rear brake caliper bracket. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JL9) .
  8. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) .

  10. Turn the adjustment screw (1) to the fully home position in the notched adjustment nut.
  11. Remove the park brake shoe assembly by sliding the shoe (2) towards the retaining spring (3) until the shoe disengages from the spring.
