CAUTION: Refer to Brake Dust Caution . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation . Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JL9) .
1	Brake Rotor Tip: If removing the brake rotor to be resurfaced or to service the park brake system, index the rotor to a wheel stud before removing the brake rotor. Using the J 42450-A , remove and rust or corrosion on the hub. See Special Tools . Using the J 41013 , remove the rust or corrosion from the mating surface of the rotor to the hub. See Special Tools .

Preliminary Procedure

Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (J55) or Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JL9) .

Brake Rotor
Tip:

If removing the brake rotor to be resurfaced or to service the park brake system, index the rotor to a wheel stud before removing the brake rotor.
Using the J 42450-A , remove and rust or corrosion on the hub. See Special Tools .
Using the J 41013 , remove the rust or corrosion from the mating surface of the rotor to the hub. See Special Tools .
