DTC U0100-00  : CAN Communication Failure with ECM/ISU

DTC U0101-00  : CAN Communication Failure with PCM/TCM

DTC U0126-00  : CAN Communication Failure with Absolute Steering Wheel Angle Sensor

DTC U0129-00  : CAN Communication Failure with AHB/ESB/EBB

DTC U0151-00  : CAN Communication Failure with SRS

DTC U0155-00  : CAN Communication Failure with Meter

DTC (VSA)

  1. DTC check (VSA modulator-control unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the READY TO DRIVE mode.

    -4. Test-drive the vehicle at 6 mph (10 km/h) or more.

    NOTE:  Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    U0101-00 CAN Communication Failure with PCM/TCM  
    U0126-00 CAN Communication Failure with Absolute Steering Wheel Angle Sensor

    U0151-00 CAN Communication Failure with SRS  
    DTC Description DTC
    U0155-00 CAN Communication Failure with Meter  

    Is DTC indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .

  2. DTC check (CAN gateway system)

    -1. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
       

    Are DTC(s) indicated?

    YES 

    Go to indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Which result is indicated?

    VSA modulator-control unit (Bus B) is Not Available

    Go to step 4.

    VSA modulator-control unit (Bus C) is Not Available

    Go to step 5.

    VSA modulator-control unit (Bus B and C) is Available

    Go to step 6.

  4. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector
    CAN gateway 16P connector

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H and F-CAN B_L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and the CAN gateway.

  5. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector
    CAN gateway 16P connector

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

      VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN C_H and F-CAN C_L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and the CAN gateway.

  6. F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel(s) normally.

    Is it detected normally?

    Detected normal

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .

    U0100-00: PCM (Bus A) is Not Available

    Go to step 7.

    U0100-00: PCM (Bus B) is Not Available

    Go to step 8.

    U0101-00: PCM (Bus A) is Not Available

    Go to step 7.

    U0101-00: PCM (Bus B) is Not Available

    Go to step 8.

    U0126-00: EPS control unit (Bus C) is Not Available

    Go to step 9.

    U0129-00: Electric servo brake control unit (Bus B) is Not Available

    Go to step 8.

    U0129-00: Electric servo brake control unit (Bus C) is Not Available

    Go to step 9.

    U0151-00: SRS unit (Bus C) is Not Available

    Go to step 9.

    U0155-00: Gauge control module (Bus D) is Not Available

    Go to step 10.

  7. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H, F-CAN A_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors according to the detected DTC.

      CAN gateway 16P connector
    U0100-00 PCM connector A (50P)
    U0101-00 PCM connector A (50P)

    NOTE:  Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute when disconnecting the PCM connector.

    SCS Short

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Transmitting control unit connector(s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H and F-CAN A_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.

  8. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors according to the detected DTC.

    DTC Connector
      CAN gateway 16P connector
    U0100-00 PCM connector A (50P)
    U0101-00 PCM connector A (50P)
    U0129-00 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector

    NOTE:  Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute when disconnecting the PCM connector.

    SCS Short

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Transmitting control unit connector(s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H and F-CAN B_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.

  9. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors according to the detected DTC.

      CAN gateway 16P connector
    U0126-00 EPS control unit connector B (6P)
    U0129-00 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector
    U0151-00 SRS unit connector A (39P)

    NOTE:  Before disconnecting the SRS unit connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure and wait for at least 3 minutes.

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

      Transmitting control unit connector(s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected

    YES 

    The F-CAN C_H and F-CAN C_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.

  10. Open wire check (F-CAN D_H, F-CAN D_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors according to the detected DTC.

    U0155-00 Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    The F-CAN D_H and F-CAN D_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.
